If you are an admin user you can re-assign tasks in bulk by selecting the tick box on the right hand side and clicking the Bulk reassign button.
Q. The site I want to conduct a risk assessment on doesn’t appear in BrightSafe. How do I get it added?
Simple! Sites are migrated from your BrightHR account and need to be set up here first.
Click in the the apps section in the top left, and click BrightHR. From here, head to settings in the top right and then 'Places of work'
Now you need to add the place of work giving it a name, an address and selecting who works here. Please note, only admins can create places of work on BrightHR and the permissions are separate meaning even if you're an admin on BrightSafe, you may not on BrightHR.
A responsible person is someone within the business that would be responsible for investigating injuries/illness and / or reporting them to the Enforcing Authorities.
Responsible persons are able to access injury/illness records once they have been submitted. They also receive notification when an injury/illness record is submitted, so they are aware of all injury/illness that happen.
If you go to the employees section and click the three dots next to the employees name then you will have a tickbox to set this employee as a responsible person. They will need to have Admin or user access in order to be set as a responsible person.
Add the employee into BrightHR and then on the next log in to BrightSafe, their information will be synced to BrightSafe.
Go to the Employees tab, click the three dots next to the name of the user you’ll like to make an admin and change their role in the box that is displayed. Click save to confirm.
The next time that user logs in they will have admin access.
Admins hold all the power. They can access all areas within BrightSafe and grant access to other users.
Users can do most things within BrightSafe, apart from grant access to other users and view other user’s tasks.
Employee is the most basic permission level giving access to e-learning, access to report injuries/illness and hazards.
Simple! First, head over to the 'Employees' section on BrightSafe. Here, you will see a list of all of your employees on BrightHR, click on their name or the 3 dots next to them and then edit.
This will give you options to change their role and permissions. Roles, refer to their overall permissions which are Admin, User and Employee. The permissions, refer to additional permissions which can be given to either admins or users - Responsible person or Receives hazard notificiations.
You can find out just what roles and permissions gives access to by clicking the info point next to each column on the employees page.
