BrightHR Software / Working patterns

This is setup within the employees working pattern, to create a working pattern head to your settings, select 'Working patterns' and click 'Create new pattern'.
Head over to the settings section of your account and select 'Working time patterns' to get started.
Next, find the working pattern you'd like to remove and click the bin next to it to permanently delete it from BrightHR.
Please note: if you have employees assigned to this pattern you will not be able to delete it, first re-assign employees to another working pattern.
Unfortunately, details within a working pattern cannot be edited but you can copy all the details of an existing pattern you've previously set up to make any adjustments you need.
Head to settings and select 'Working time patterns' then click 'Create new pattern' to get started.
Enter the name of your pattern, select whether you'd like to set this as your default pattern for new starters then select the name of the pattern you'd like to edit from the 'Copy existing pattern' drop-down.
Next just make any adjustments you need and click 'Save' to add your updated pattern.
Once your new pattern has been created, we would then need to head over to the employee(s) profile and assign the new working pattern which can be done via the employment tab and then in the contract summary.
Working time patterns are the hours that you allocate each day for fixed employees to accrue or request leave. The total working hours allocated each day will reflect the hours deducted when requesting leave. The total working hours for the week should reflect their contracted hours.
Note: We recommend that you align with your payroll default settings. For example, a full-time employee doing 40 hours per week may have leave deducted at 7.6 or 8 hours in payroll. It is best to ensure the working time pattern aligns with the deductions in payroll.
Yes you can! If you need to rename your working pattern, simply click the 3 dots next to it and click rename.
Give your pattern a new name and click 'Rename'.

You could use the option to create a pattern that has a slight variation from week to week such as working a Saturday every two weeks simply add another 7 days and add the Saturday shift to the 2nd week to instruct BrightHR to repeat this.
A more complex flexible pattern may be if your employee works for example a 4 days on and then 4 days off pattern. This will mean their working days will vary from week to week.
In this situation, select a number of days they're working and then unselect the number of days again. This will then repeat that pattern.

Next to each day, you will see the +Split option which will allow you to add a second shift on that particular day so you can add a split shift.
