How do I setup a pay run?

Head to ‘Pay run settings’ in the ‘Company Setup’ section and you will be able to configure your first pay run. Click ‘Add pay frequency’ and select your pay frequency and give the pay run a name if you wish.

Next, you will add your pay run’s pay schedule which you will need details such as the pay day type, first pay date, cut-off date details and you can also set the reference period for pro rata salary calculations. Once you save your pay run details, this will create and setup your first pay run.

Can I create multiple pay runs for the same pay frequency?

Accepted Answer

Yes you can! You are able to set up as many pay runs as you need to. For example, if you need to set up a monthly pay run but have staff that are paid weekly or bi-weekly too, you can create a new pay run in the 'Pay run settings' under the 'Company setup' section. Just simply input the relevant details, and the pay runs will run concurrently. Bear in mind that the pay-runs are managed separately and would produce separate RTI submissions and payment reports.

Can I add variable payments to my pay run?

Yes you can! Any employees you need to add variable payments for can be added via the BrightHR Payroll section.

Simply head over to the Payroll section and select the pay run they're included in. You will now see any applicable employees in here with their hourly pay rate and a unit field where you can enter the number of hours they have worked.

Once the hours have been entered, BrightHR will calculate their payment for that pay run period.

You can also add varying payments using the add row option which allows you to add a higher or lower pay rate as neccesary.

This will then synchronise to BrightHR Payroll and appear on the pay run.

How do I sync my employees from BrightHR to BrightHR Payroll?

Syncing your employees from your HR platform to your payroll solution couldn’t be easier. Simply head over to the ‘Payroll’ section on your BrightHR account, review any missing information the system needs, and once eligible, you will be able to sync the employees on to the payroll system.

Once you have synced with BrightHR, you will want to add additional details on to payroll to get them fully set up for payment.
