Fair Allocation of Tips Policy (Tronc Arrangement)

Explain your stance on tips when a Tronc Agreement is in place

When a tronc system is in place, employers must inform employees of how tips are handled and allocated. With a formal policy in place you can enhance your HR processes, comply with legislation and foster a culture of clarity and transparency for all workers in your business.

Comply with the UK's employment laws on tipping

Employers must ensure that the tronc system they have in place complies with the Employment (Allocation of Tips) Act 2023 and the Code of Practice on Fair and Transparent Distribution of Tips. By having a formal policy in place you can consult your employees on your system and also ensure compliance. This policy must be shared with your workers and updated in line with current laws.
