How do I edit a working pattern?

Unfortunately, details within a working pattern cannot be edited but you can copy all the details of an existing pattern you've previously set up to make any adjustments you need.

Head to settings and select 'Working time patterns' then click 'Create new pattern' to get started.

Enter the name of your pattern, select whether you'd like to set this as your default pattern for new starters then select the name of the pattern you'd like to edit from the 'Copy existing pattern' drop-down.

Next just make any adjustments you need and click 'Save' to add your updated pattern.

Once your new pattern has been created, we would then need to head over to the employee(s) profile and assign the new working pattern which can be done via the employment tab and then in the contract summary.

Question 2

How do I change who an employee reports to?

Accepted Answer

You don’t change who the employee reports to, you change who the managers *manage*. (Don’t worry, it’s simpler than it sounds!)

Head to **Settings** in the top right of **any page** then select **Permissions** from the bar on the left.

Find the manager’s name and change their role to **Manager**.

You’ll then be given the option to **edit direct reports**. This opens a pop-up where you can select the employees that report to this manager.

Click the pink ![](https://www.datocms-assets.com/23428/1600947566-save.png) button on the pop-up, and then the pink **save changes** button on the bottom right of the page to update your changes.

Is the annual leave allowance correct?

Accepted Answer

If the profile is showing an incorrect holiday entitlement, there is some missing or incorrect information in the contract summary.

To get started, head to the profile via the employee hub, click the employment tab, select 'Edit' and then correct the contract.

There are a few things you need to check, firstly, check the full time working week is correct (this should always be the working hours of a full time employee in your business).

Secondly, make sure that the annual leave figures have been entered. The full time annual leave entitlement should always be the amount of days/hours that the full time employees would accrue.

Finally, the 'Min. annual leave entitlement' needs to have been filled in with the recommended amount which appears in grey text below the box (this will not automatically update)

Once you have saved your changes, the amount recommended should be visible on the profile or a pro-rated figure if they have started part way through the year.

I’m having trouble logging into the mobile app. What should I do?

Accepted Answer

The mobile app will open your web browser for you to log in to BrightHR, and then redirect back to the app. This process is for added security. If you’re struggling to log in via the mobile app, there are a few things you can check:

1.  Double check you have a valid account on the BrightHR system by logging into the website directly.

2.  Make sure cookies are enabled in your default phone browser (and that you’ve recently cleared the cookies and cache). Cookies help websites and apps remember important information that improve your browsing experience.

3.  Remember to use the  _same_  email address you used when you first registered your BrightHR account (this is the email address we sent your registration details to). Email addresses and passwords are  _case sensitive_, so make sure you’re entering them both correctly—and be careful not to add a space before or after your email address.

How do I add a team?
